Volunteer Management

Volunteer Centre Calderdale offers support and advice to organisations and groups in the voluntary and charity sector about involving volunteers in their activities.  If you would like a member of our team to visit your organisation to discuss these issues please contact Steve Blackman in the first instance on 01422 348 777 or email vdm@cvac.org.uk

A resource of use to organiastions either just starting their volunteer programme or reflecting on how it is going is the assessment kit.  This is a simple tool to identify what is going well and which areas may need further development.  Alongside this the  Gold Star Good Practice Guide is a useful document with factsheets covering topics such as Finding VolunteersReimbursing Expenses and Confidentiality.  There are also templates of key documents such as Volunteer Agreements and Reference Requests.

Further resources for those working with volunteers can be found here.

Depending on the volunteer role organistaions may need to ask their volunteer(s) to undertake a CRB check.  The following fact sheet produced by Volunteering England will help you know When To Get A CRB Disclosure.  Also details of the CRB service offered by Voluntary Action Calderdale can be found here.
